Flexible Tunable Nyquist Pulse Generation Using Recirculating Frequency Shift Loop

A novel method of optical Nyquist pulse generation based on recirculating frequency shift loop (RFSL) is proposed and experimentally demonstrated. In this article, a large number flat phase-locked comb lines output from RFSL are used to synthesize pulse, which has ultra-narrow flexible tunable width. It the first time theoretically analyze condition by in detail. experiment, spectral continuously tuned range 10 40 corresponding width 8.9 ps 2.4 ps. Meanwhile, pulses with repetition rate 7.5 GHz 15 obtained experimentally.
